There is always something about doing the final touches to your own possessions. Especially when the item is made to be great in the first place, and can have strong yielding attributes, to reliable, strong, and amazing qualities. I bought this U-finish bow kit and the final touches have created an absolute beautiful bow! I also just bought the 64" longbow U-finish bow kit to do one up for my wife just before writing this review because I enjoy it so much! Definitely will continue purchasing them over time and time again! ( I am a bow fiend!)

A good bow, nice and quiet when braced at 6-1/4" height. I replaced the string it came with since my own 3 bundle Flemish twist strings seem to enhance good shooting. And grip/arrow nock placement has a lot to do with good arrow flight. I seem to have found the right combination of these factors. I ordered the uni grip and it was already shaped to fit my hand (kind of an elongated hourglass shape). I shoot off the nuckle using a leather finger guard. I'm well satisfied with the 40-45 lb draw weight I purchased. Finishing was easy, just sand with 100, 150, 220 and 320 grit then stain with ebony (hickory is a white wood, and ebony makes it dark olive brown, a nice warm tone) then seal with two coats of polyurethane minwax. I recommend a Flemish twist 3 bundle served string to replace the one that comes with the bow, it's not as sturdy and probably won't shoot as well as a custom Flemish twist string replacement. I covered the grip according to Crow's Head how to guidelines and it's a good shooting bow.
